Federal Character:
Though a private University located in Delta State, Novena University is perhaps the only private University in Nigeria with a truly national outlook and Federal character. A quick look at the key officers of the University will prove this point: the Proprietor is from South- South, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees is from the Northeast; the Chancellor is from the South-South; the Vice-Chancellor is from the Western part of the country just as the other members of the Council and Senate constitute a fair representation of the geographical spread of Nigeria.   Other members of the Board of Trustees are Alhaji (Barrister) Sanusi Ado Bayero (North-West); Alhaji Garba Buwai (North West); Dr. Ore Falomo (South-West).  Same is the Council with distribution of membership across the nation.
