Brief on the Colleges

1 College of Natural and Applied Sciences

The College runs programmes in physical, chemical, mathematical, and biological sciences. Apart from running courses leading to the award of degrees, the various departments will also service other science-based colleges. One of the important innovations is the plan to mount Biotechnology as an undergraduate degree programme.

2 College of Food Science and Technology

The College provides sound and modern knowledge in both theory and practice to the students. The science and technology of food analysis and nutrition as well as tourism would be imparted to students with the desire to make them entrepreneurial and self-reliant. The programme of instruction would also ensure a successful career in both public and private sectors.

3 College of Management and Social Sciences
The objective of the College is to produce graduates broadly educated in the humanities, economic, social and industrial management. Students so trained will have capacity to function in various industrial, cultural, business and development organization as well as being able to teach at different academic levels. The programmes of the College shall be enriched with Intelligence and Security Studies as well as International Relations and Strategic Studies.

4 College of Information and Communications Technology

The present information age with its attendant information super highway and especially the emergence of the electronic (virtual) library and e-learning pose a veritable challenge to the management of libraries particularly institutional libraries. Full computerization is now the order of the day in most modern libraries world wide. Any graduate of library and information science who must fit in and be a key player in the work place and the management of the modern (virtually bookless) library should, of necessity, be imbued with the requisite computer skills and information management competencies.
